If my legs ache after a game of soccer, does this mean they will get stronger?

For example, every time they stop aching will it then take more more them to ache the next time? Am i building the muscles up? yes but.......your shoes could be the wrong size or fit The ache you feel in your legs is lactic acid. If it bothers, you, when you're done with the game, elevate your legs.
Also, yeah, you're building muscle, not as much as you would if you were lifting weights but you're getting a lot stronger. Just not much physically bigger.
  • yessir. it means your whole body had a bit of workout in general. yes, your legs are getting stronger. the apperence may not seem like it, but it will get heavier and stronger and thicker eventually. i am a PA major. i know what i am talkin about.
  • it's actually your body replenishing the glucose levels in your muscles since you just used tons of it, and glucose is what fuels your muscle movements. so yes they will get stronger and attain more stamina (be able to last longer).
  • pretty much. don't forget that no matter how strong they get this season, if you don't keep it up between seasons you'll have to start all over with the aching next season. also, make sure that it just aches and doesn't feel serious.
  • Yes. the ache is just lactic acid building up in your muscles, and tiny rips in the muscles from the continuous strain. they will get stronger. running is just like working out int he wieght room. you strengthen your legs
  • From your question.. i think you already know the answer. Yes, you are building muscle. The more muscle you build the longer it will take to tear them down. It will hurt less after each game.
  • if you play soccer on a regular basis, they shouldnt ache. but if you're trying something new in soccer, than its normal
  • it is either building muscle or u are completely out of shape(hurting u) or u are burning fat but not getting muscle
  • Yes, they will build up over time, just don't ignore shin splints, over time they could be damaging.
  • Yep, if they are sore that's a good sign, you will get stronger and build up.
  • Yes just keep playing you will be so much stronger with in a month.
  • Yes
