Menu navigation: Sloooow, anyway to speed up/optim

  • disclaimer: i did a forum search before posting.

    is there anyway to speed up or optimize the menu navigation within xbmc? switching between titles and such is very slow, sometimes taking almost a minute to move from folder to folder.

    what might cause this? directory depth, number of files, etc?

    any config files i might optimize? i'm using mostly xbms shares for remote file access.

  • using relax?
    -switch to smb or xbmsp (xns/relax is not optimal for xbmc)

    have id3tags enabled in settings?
    -disable and scan the folder so it gets added to the database instead of being reloaded all the time

    while i'm not using relax (i use ccxstream), i do have id3tags enabled in settings. i'll disable and give it a try.
