Mouse wheel scrolling makes grid text disappear (Safari 3.1)

  • On Safari 3.1 (both mac/windows versions), using the mouse scroll wheel to scroll a grid within a panel causes text of the grid to disappear. I can see the gridheader and clicking on the a row activates the proper functionality. I just can't read the text! Very annoying for a user. Initially i thought the text was white but selecting the row changes the background color and I still can't read the text.

The grid has autoHeight: true and its parent panel has autoScroll: true.

This problem started with Ext 2.1. Just tried 2.2 hoping it might be fixed, but the problems persists. We haven't upgraded from 2.0.2 for this reason.

Any ideas on what is causing this problem?

  • I found an example among the Ext 2.2 samples!

Go to "From Markup Grid Example" using Safari.
    http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/grid/from-markup.html

Click "Create grid". Select a row in the grid. Even thought the grid doesn't have a scroll bar, moving the scroll wheel makes the text disappear. Et viola!

I received message from another forum member indicating they had the same problem with their application.

Yeah I get the same thing on Safari 3.1.2(525.21) / Windows Vista 32bit.
    Click create grid
    Select a row
    scroll wheel on mouse
    grid data/rows gone

  • Guys

I can confirm this also affects Safari v2.0.4 on a Mac.

Has this been raised as a bug?

  • Great to hear that Macs work well with ext. I was hoping that someone had run into this problem before and had a one line fix. In the process of creating a simplified version to post to the forum. It will be a few days before we will have something to post.

  • I certainly have not. A lot of the Core Ext development team works on macs. If you want help, you're going to have to post code.

  • Here is another example form linux_china. Have a look at the http://book.mvnsearch.org. Please click grid icon in the top left region, mouse wheel scrolling, and text will disappear.

Does anyone else have this problem?
